Boys Noize has just released a new song: “Starchild” for his forthcoming self-produced 4th studio album: MAYDAY. The album is supposed to be released on May 20th. The song features Poliça (Channy Leaneagh) an independent synth-heavy pop group. The track has already been chosen by Zane Lowe to be the world record on his Beats 1 show said the release.
Boys Noize was created by producer and DJ Alex Ridha who is from Berlin and released his first album at the age of fifteen. He had already been named one of the “Top Ten DJ’s Who Rule The World” by Rolling Stone as well as “The Best Electronic Act” by Beatport for three years straight.
Mayday is supposed to be his most unique album yet, with a mix of techno, punk and the early days of rave. The album includes collaborations with talented artist such as Poliça, Hudson Mohawke, Benga, Remy Banks, Spank Rock as well as special guests that are to remain a secret.
When talking about his inspiration behind the album, Ridha said: “I always try to challenge myself as a producer and a musician, Keeping the purity of electronic music but taking it somewhere new is the most difficult, and most motivating. MAYDAY is me taking the music I love to the future, no matter how uncertain the future seems.”
His press officials said “MAYDAY speaks for a generation that no longer gives a damn about boundaries. Walls are for breaking down. MAYDAY’s for tearing them to shreds.”
