The six-piece heavy-metal band Kvelertak announced an anticipated follow-up to 2013’s chart-topping Meir, according to Brooklyn Vegan. Nattesferd (‘Night Traveler’), the third album of metal-spiked punk that will be dropped on May 13, champions an explosive and abrasive atmosphere coalesced with its classic rock influence.
After its inception in 2007, Kvelertak debuted with an album that sold over 15,000 copies and was certified gold by IFPI. The metal Norwegian group fuses the forces of vocalist Erlend Hjelvik, guitarists Vidar Landa, Bjarte Lund Rolland and Maciek Ofstad, bassist Marvin Nygaard and drummer Kjetil Gjermundrød.
Two Spellemann Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Rock Band later, the larger-than-life band will reveal their third self-produced album. Nattesferd landed on Rolling Stone, Stereogum, and Consequence of Sound’s lists of most anticipated albums of 2016. Frontamn Erlend Hjelvik commented:
However cliché it may sound, I’m not afraid to say that this is our best one yet. It’s an exquisite smorgasbord of riffs infused with everything between the best of classic rock and heavy metal. I’m certain it will blow the minds of both old and new fans.
