If you’re looking for some chill music, laid back environment and cheap beer, there is always someplace to go in Williamsburg. But on March 21st, head out to Shea Stadium to catch Yabadum, The Obsessives and Broken Beak for some of the most savage tunes around.
NYC band, Yabadums, will be performing right in their natural habitat. The jazz/indie band is everything you’d expect a band from Williamsburg to sound like. These guys really have pushed experimental to a new level and incorporate anything that gives themselves a funkier edge. Check out their newest release, Wormwater, which they released on their Soundcloud earlier this month.
The Obsessives, the Philadelphia ’emo-revival’ band, is a diamond in the rough. If you’re tired of listening to Snowing, I Hate Myself and American Football albums, these guys are the breath of fresh air you’re looking for. Check out Daisy off of their album that came out last year, Heck No, Nancy.
Broken Beak, another Philadelphia-based emo band, will also be playing. Brendan Lukens, guitarist/vocalist of Modern Baseball, started this band as a side project and are and definitely worth keeping an eye on in 2016. They came out with their newest EP, Curse Burner, earlier last year and just came out with two new songs on their Bandcamp in January.
Tickets are on sale now for this indie/emo show you’re definitely going to want to make for only $8 on ticketfly.com
