It looks like Wolf Parade may be leaving fans hints of an upcoming reunion. The band has been teasing followers on social media by launching Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as updating their website to simply say “2016”, according to Pitchfork.
In 2010 it was said that the bandwould be taking an “indefinante hiatus, but as talk would have it, the hiatus has been lifted.
Wolf Parade was founded in 2003 in Quebec by Spencer Krug and Boeckner. Fellow members, Arlen Thompson and Dante DeCaro joined in shortly after. One of the bands which were signed by Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse, they themselves became one of the biggest names in indie rock after releasing their debut in 2005, Apologies to the Queen Mary. That album was buoyed by can’t-miss hits like “Shine a Light,” which featured off-kilter melodies and unmistakable vocal-work.
Both Krug and Boeckner have been incredibly prolific in their time since taking a step away from Wolf Parade, venturing into myriad side projects during the band’s hiatus. Krug has taken on projects like Sunset Rubdown, Moonface and Swan Lake, while Boeckner has graced music fans with projects such as Divine Fits, Operators and Handsome Furs.
UPDATE (1/15/2016): The band has confirmed that they are working on new music, and will be debuting some of it on their upcoming tour dates, which you can see below.
