Milk! Records will release a compilation album titled Good for You. Included on the six-track release is “Three Packs a Day,” a song by Courtney Barnett, confessing her love for instant ramen.
Good for You is out on Valentines Day.
The song is truly a musical love letter. The lyrics include lines such as, “That MSG tastes good to me/ I disagree with all your warnings,” followed with, “Burn my tongue/ Patience is a virtue.” Barnett really just put everyone’s feelings about instant ramen into a catchy two-minute tune.
Barnett recently paid tribute to Patti Smith this past November with a special concert. Barnett covered “Redondo Beach” and “Break It Up.” Barnett had also worked on a cover of “Charcoal Lane” with Paul Kelly the month before.
Along with the release of the song, Pitchfork reported Barnett adding some tour dates.
