In a recent interview with The Sun, Damon Albarn announced that he is working on a new album with his supergroup, The Good, the Bad & the Queen. The band consists of the Clash’s Paul Simonon, the Verve’s Simon Tong and Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen.
While Albarn did not provide any details on the upcoming LP, he also stated he is working on a new Gorillaz album and that he hopes to “Give it a real story from beginning to end.”
The main topic of the interview was the new musical wonder.land, a modern take on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland novels that Albarn wrote the score for.
In between writing and recording music for his many ongoing projects, Albarn spent much of the last year on tour with his old Britpop band Blur, who released their new album, The Magic Whip earlier this year.
With all the projects he is working on it is unclear what comes next for Albarn, but fans can be certain that some new material is on the horizon.
