Indie pop band La Sera, comprised of vocalist and bassist Katy Goodman, and guitarist and vocalist Todd Wisenbaker, have released the first single off their upcoming studio album Music For Listening To Music To.
The track, “High Notes”, incorporates a sound that showcases a jangle pop guitar sound, courtesy of Wisenbaker with hints of folk and country added to the mix. Not surprisingly, also present is a vocal melody from Goodman that closely resembles Morrissey, given both Goodman and Wisenbaker’s admitted love for The Smiths.
There is no word if a video will follow in the near future. A video for the song “10 Headed Goat Wizard” a cut off the group’s 2014 album Hour of the Dawn was just released this September, so it could be a while if the videos for this album follow suit. A teaser video for the new album itself is available via Youtube however.
“High Notes” certainly sets the stage for a promising fourth LP from this upcoming group. The new album is set to be released in March of next year.
