High on Fire is set to join the 2016 Decibel Magazine Tour; lineup plus the tour dates have been announced.
Heavy metal music’s favorite trio has just joined the much anticipated 2016 Decibel Magazine Tour, tour poster seen above, that is set to take off on March 17 of next year on the Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, MD. Other bands that are set to take the stage with High On Fire will be Sweden’s Tribulation, Ohio’s Skeletonwitch and Abbath, the former frontman for Norwegian black metal legends Immortal. These monstrous acts will take the reins of this tour into a month-long stint that will run straight through to April 15 with the concluding show being in Philadelphia, PA on the Union transfer stage. Tour dates, full lineup and ticketing information can be found below.
High on Fire is currently touring in support of their latest release, Luminiferous. The new LP has been hailed by Rolling Stone as “High on Fire’s finest album yet.” The band’s second album, Surrounded by Thieves has been part of Decibel Magazine’s “Hall of Fame” since its 2002 release. The band has since released five more albums, with Luminiferous being their latest.
The Oakland, CA based band produces modern heavy metal that merges primal fury and aggression, hesher bombast and hall of fame heaviness, according to a press release. The band has been creating their own unique sound a rewriting the hand book on hard rock since their 1998 formation and has stunned critic the whole way through. The band includes underground legend and founding member of SLEEP, front man Matt Pike along with Des Kensel on drums and Jeff Matz on bass. The only thing more impressive and furiously aggressive than the trio’s music is their live performance.
