Tool’s only live performance of 2015 turned into a Led Zeppelin cover band. The band came onstage at their headlining set at Tempe, Arizona’s Monster Mash dressed as Led Zeppelin.
They opened with Zeppelin’s “No Quarter” and continued the set to perform their own songs. According to PureVolume, Tool performed “The Grudge” live for the first time since 2002 along with a new song, “Descending.” This was Tool’s only scheduled date to perform in 2015 and they have no plans to perform in the future.
Rolling Stone reports that this is Tool’s first show with the full band since March 2014. In the meantime, Tool frontman, Maynard James Keenan, will tour in support of Puscifer’s new LP Money Shot, along with work on his upcoming biography and a possible new Tool album.
“They’re working hard in their own way; I’m working hard in my own way, and I’ve got nothin’ for ya,” Keenan told Rolling Stone of his band mates’ progress on the new Tool album.
