Bloc Party is consisted of Kele Okereke, vocals/guitar, Russell Lissack, guitar, Justin Harris, bass, and Louise Bartle, drums. Harris and Bartle were recruited in various stages in 2014 making the band a 4-piece again.
After 26 years as a band and countless achievements, Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack are taking it back to where it all began. The fifth Bloc Party album is about faith and devotion, but is not a religious epiphany as Kele insists. Kele says, “I grew up in a religious house so I’m fully aware of the imagery, but I’m not Christian. It’s not something I subscribe to.” Russell says, “It’s still a very live record.”
Following an acclaimed return to the stage at this years FYF Festival in August, Bloc Party are confirmed to headline Hostess Club Weekender in Japan, and Falls Festival in Australia this winter and play a run of sold out intimate shows in November-December throughout Europe.
