Everybody’s favourite skate punk band is back presenting a new video for their killer track “Drone”. FIDLAR has a way of making you want to surf during the day and be part of a thriller movie at night, and the video for “Drone” pulls from tons of elements to make an altogether rad video.
Originating from Los Angeles, FIDLAR has that classic west coast punk vibe that isn’t too common in punk music nowadays. It’s a refreshing change to have these sounds introduced again and experimented with a band that should definitely be on your watch list. They’ll catch you with their first track, whether it’s from their debut self titled album or their future release: Too. They’ve got those laid back surf vibes with just enough punk in it to make you want to rebel a little.
Between aged filming to the cheesy sci fi effects from laser guns, the entire video is almost reminiscent of the Star Trek episodes from the seventies. The “band” of drones follow around a pristine businessman in a suit, effectively capturing him and partaking in corny alien abduction rituals like probing his brain. The video itself will make you laugh, but the song backing it will make you want to be on the run. “Drone” is an incredible new track by FIDLAR, putting in those classic skate/surf punk sounds that you don’t hear much anymore outside of garage bands. After releasing a track not too long ago entitled “West Coast”, FIDLAR’s on the move with releasing new material as well as announcing their new album Too.
Too includes tracks like “Drone”, “40oz On Repeat”, and “West Coast” – all of which have been wildly successful in their releases as singles. The album is set for release September 4th, so punk rock fans will have to hold out their excitement until then and live through the classic comedic new video for “Drone”.
