Indie hip-hop collective Doomtree has recently announced the first-ever Doomtree Zoo, a special all-day event to take place on Oct. 3 at CHS Field in St. Paul, Minn.
Doomtree, well known for singles such as “Beastface” and “Final Boss,” will headline the event. The group features five rappers – P.O.S, Dessa, Cecil Otter, Sims, and Mike Mictlan – and two producers – Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger – and will be supported by seven other acts. The acts, featuring hip-hop performances from Aesop Rock and Shabazz Palaces, were chosen to reflect the personal tastes of Doomtree members.
The afternoon hours will feature kid-friendly activities, such as face painting and performances by In the Heart of the Beast Theatre puppeteers. Admission will be free for children 8-years-old and under.
Later in the evening will feature performances geared more towards adults, featuring rowdier, nosier sets, and visual design from Toss Film + Design.
The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., rain or shine, at the home of the St. Paul Saints – CHS Field in Lowerton, St. Paul.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. CST. Tickets can be purchased online here or directly from Doomtree at the CHS Field box office between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m, $35 in advance or $45 at the door. VIP Baller Passes are also available for $100; only 300 will be sold.
If you can’t make it to the Doomtree Zoo, be sure to catch the group at another stop of their fall tour in support of their newest album, All Hands.
