Singer/songwriter Matthew Koma is a recording artist from New York who signed his first publishing deal at age 16. Koma began his career in music with punk rock but has since transitioned into hip hop and EDM. As a man of many genres, Koma has collaborated with artists such as Hardwell, Miriam Bryant, One Republic, and Tiësto. His song with Zedd, “Spectrum,” spent two weeks as #1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart. Koma has also worked with his childhood idol Bruce Springsteen in producing the song “Rocky Ground.”
In his first EP, Parachute, Koma was based more around pop and acoustic performances. After working with Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso, Koma became hooked to a sound that was unfamiliar to him at the time. Now incorporating EDM into his music, Koma’s talents are shown by his continuous chart-topping songs.
With dance music and indie rock in his mix, Koma has toured and worked with a diverse group of artists. Recently, he has been focused on the release of his newest solo album. His “manic and inconsistent” songwriting process is what makes this artist thrive in his exciting music career.
