Little Boots has unveiled a new single off of her upcoming new record, Working Girl. The newest single, “No Pressure,” shows off the wide musical range that the new record will exhibit from this outstanding artist.
The third single off of the Little Boots’s Working Girl shows off an even newer sound that differentiates it wildly from the previous two singles, “Working Girl” and “Better In The Morning”. Up to this point, every single that Little Boots has released off of the record does have one particular theme in common: the struggles of a woman in the corporate workplace, an arena that Little Boots herself has sought to enter into for some time. Despite the thematic link between the singles, what separates them is the overall sound of the singles, which share a lively electro-pop foundation, but differ in terms of production and vocal quality, and “No Pressure” is the best example of this variety.
“No Pressure” shares the same vocal theme that has inhabited the record’s singles up to this point, but the pulsating rhythms kick it up another notch to such an extent that the power of the single makes it a stand out amongst the other two singles that have been released thus far. The powerfully pulsating electronic beats counter-balance Little Boots’s rather light, alluring vocal performance to craft what is a perfectly balanced single. The music doesn’t overshadow the lyrics or the vocals, and the vocals do not overshadow the music. All in all, the performance given by Little Boots in her new single has added another level of anticipation for the Working Girl release, which is slated to be released in July of this year.
