Kurt Vile and his Violators have booked a hometown show this fall. You can catch the local favorite when he plays Union Transfer on October 9th. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (6/19) at noon. This is likely to be a hugely popular show, so don’t wait to grab tickets for this one!
The show will feature support from fellow local Luke Roberts as well as Alabama’s Waxahatchee. Waxahatchee, aka Katie Crutchfield, released her third studio album, Ivy Tripp, in April of this year. Of the title, she said, “The title Ivy Tripp is really just a term I made up for directionless-ness, specifically of the 20-something, 30-something, 40-something of today, lacking regard for the complaisant life path of our parents and grandparents.” Head to UT early to catch both openers on 10/9!
Kurt Vile also announced that a new album is in the works. b’lieve i’m goin down will be the follow up to his hugely successful Wakin on a Pretty Daze which was released way back in 2013. At this point we don’t have a release date but you can check out the teaser trailer that Vile has for fans here. The album, though, is expected some time this fall so you’ll be sure to hear new music at his upcoming Union Transfer gig.
In celebration of the new release, Vile and his Violators will be headed out on a rather lengthy fall tour that will kick off at the beginning of October in Boston. They’ll play throughout the US and Canada before headed abroad for shows throughout Europe. They’ll wrap things up at the end of November.
