1. Mohawk
The tumblr/Entourage and House of Vans took over the Mohawk this year with a line up consisting of notable big name artists including, Spoon, Future Islands, Migos, BORNS, Odesza, Atmosphere, Ghostface Killah, and many more. If you’ve been to the Mohawk than you know how intimate of a venue this is. The capacity of the Mohawk sits around 800 people, so imagine being a part of that crowd when huge acts like the aforementioned. It’s intimate and it’s awesome.
2. Spotify
The Spotify House occupies a small space on East 6th which can hold about 500 people. They always have the hottest artists to watch for the year, killer DJs and sound systems, free drinks, and delicious Austin eats every day for six days straight. If that doesn’t sound awesome already than I’m not quite sure what does. The House also has interactive portions like photo booths, touch screen trivia tables, and bicycles to generate energy!
3. Pandora Discovery Den
The Pandora Discovery Den is the perfect place to discover new artists. Who would have guessed? The venue is on the smaller side and has an outdoor stage, so when the weather is nice it’s even better. The show is open to the public during the day, and badges/wristbands at night. If you’re tired of waiting in long lines and living off of hope to get into a show, head over to the Discovery Den and find a new artist to swoon over. Isn’t that was SXSW is all about?
