Lykke Li and Woodkid have released a new song “Never Let You Down.” The new single will be part of the upcoming soundtrack for Divergent sequel, Insurgent.
In recent news, Lykke Li canceled tour dates due to health issues. While she may no longer be on tour, Li still remains active through the release of music. In addition to the release of “Never Let You Down,” she was featured on Emile Haynie’s new song “Come Find Me.”
As for Woodkid (Yoann Lemoine), he is a French singer and songwriter. He is best known for his music video work with Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and Taylor Swift’s “Back To December”. As an artist he has performed in highly acclaimed festivals including the Coachella 2014.
According to Consequence of Sound, the track is equal parts haunting and dramatic. As a result, it is a great fit for the action packed Veronica Roth story. The ballad like track begins with the strong steady voice of Woodkid. As Li jumps in, the duo creates an entrancing harmony. Li dominates the second verse with an emotional vibe that fits perfectly into the background instrumentals of the song.
