Ty Segall has released a new song, “Mr. Face,” which is the title track of his upcoming EP, out January 13th.
Rocker Ty Segall has released the title track off his upcoming EP Mr. Face, which is out on January 13th on Famous Class. The EP will be released on a gatefold double 7″ pressed on translucent red and blue-colored vinyl, and includes special 3-D glasses.
Segall had a busy 2014, releasing Manipulator and compilation album $ingle$ 2. Now, Segall is starting 2015 with a new EP, which will likely be followed by a new LP, as Segall has released a new solo record every since 2008.
His latest solo release, Manipulator, held smoother, glam-er, and more rock songs than his previous works, and the new album featured inspiration from some of Segall’s favorite artists such as Alice Cooper, Cream, and David Bowie.
Segall spoke with Nerdist about working on Manipulator, and said,
“I definitely had to control my urges during the recording, because there were times when I was like, “Why the f-ck are we taking a day to lay down the bass?” Getting the bass to sound good? This is insane! But it was worth it; it was great. So it was a lesson in control and patience. But it was good.”
Segall’s newest song, “Mr. Face,” shows a more psychedelic side of the ever evolving rocker.
Ty Segall has some upcoming tour dates this month in San Francisco and Santa Ana, which you don’t want to miss, and you can stream his latest single below.
