Paolo Giovanni Nutini is a Scottish singer, songwriter and musician. Nutini’s debut album, These Streets, was released in 2006, and peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. Its follow-up, Sunny Side Up, was released in 2009, and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Both albums have been certified quintuple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.
After 5 years, Nutini released his third studio album, Caustic Love, in April of this year. The album received positive reviewsfrom music critics, and some called it “the best UK R&B album since the 1970’s.”The album debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts and was certified platinum by the BPI a few months after its release.
His musical influences include David Bowe, Damian Rice, Oasis, The Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac. Nutini had no formal music training, and was expecting to follow his father into the family fish and chip shop business. He was first encouraged to sing by his music-loving grandfather and a teacher at his school who recognized his talent.
