Ingrid Michaelson is a indie-pop singer-songwriter from Staten Island, New York. She is currently signed to Cabin 24 Records and Mom + Pop Music. Michaelson plays the guitar, piano and ukulele. In 2005 Michaelson self-released her debut Slow the Rain. It was followed by Girls and Boys the following year, which she also self-released. She signed a deal with Original Signal Recordings, with whom she re-released Girls and Boys in 2007. Her third album Be Ok, a compilation album featuring unreleased music, live recordings and covers, came out in 2008. The next year she released her fourth album Everybody. Michaelson’s next release Human Again came out in 2012. Her most recent album Lights Out was released two years later.
She contributed the song “30 Songs / 30 Days” to Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. Michaelson also co-wrote the song “Parachute” with Marshall Altman. In 2006 she worked on William Fitzsimmons’s Goodnight. She also co-wrote “Winter Song” with Sara Bareilles, which was featured on The Hotel Café Presents Winter Songs.
She will be performing with Neon Trees, Bleachers, Matt Nathanson, Nico + Vinz at the Beacon Theater as part of the Fresh 102.7’s Fall Fest.
