After entertaining a sold-out crowd at Union Transfer this past April, Lake Street Dive are headed back to Philly! They’ll be bringing the show to UT again, but this time they’re treating us to 2 back-to-back dates. Catch them on November 18th or November 19th. Or maybe even both?
Back in April, the quartet was thrilled to be playing in front of their largest crowd yet. Since then, they’ve had festival performances at Bonnaroo and even our very own XPoNential Festival. Performances in Philly are a coming home of sorts for drummer Mike Calabrese, who hails from the Philly suburbs. At their April performance, Calabrese took over the vocals on “Seventeen” and was met with intense cheering from the crowd.
And this November, fans will have a chance to cheer on Calabrese and his bandmates yet again as they take over Union Transfer. The show is presented by XPN, hosts of Lake Street Drive’s recent XPoNential Festival performance. The Boston quartet played a soulful, energy-filled gig at the July festival. Frontwoman Rachael Price led the charge with her impressive vocals and enthusiastic dance moves. At their upcoming UT slot, we can expect to hear music from their 2014 album Bad Self Portraits and hopefully their excellent cover of local heroes Hall & Oates’ “Rich Girl.”
