The members of American Authors met while at Berklee College of Music. Zac Barnett, James Adam Shelley, Dave Rublin and Matt Sanchez began playing around Boston under the moniker The Blue Pages. The band released Anthropology and Rich With Love. In 2012 they renamed themselves American Authors. The following year they released their debut EP American Authors. The band won the Overall Grand Prize at the 18th Annual USA Songwriting Competition for their song “Believer”. In 2014 they released Oh, What a Life.
