Legendary prog rockers King Crimson are set to reunite this fall for a handful of shows in New York, and a full tour should be announced soon. Guitarist Robert Fripp will be part of this reunion, acting as the sole original member to still be playing with the band.
King Crimson, formed in 1968, has seen multiple lineup changes over the years but has regrouped numerous times for touring. Following their 2008 tour, the band went on hiatus, then Fripp made an announcement last September that they would be getting back together in 2014. Via his online diary, Fripp stated the following:
So, King Crimson is in motion. This is a very different reformation to what has gone before: seven players, four English and three American, with three drummers. The Seven-Headed Beast of Crim is in Go! mode.
Joining Fripp will be Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins, and Jakko Jakszy, and they are set to play a two nights in Albany, three in NYC.
