The organizers behind CBGB Festival have announced that they are cancelling the 2026 edition due to severe weather including high wind conditions. The forecast has impacted numerous other festivals and shows in the New York City area including The Prodigy’s CBGB after show which was set to take place on September 25.

In a statement shared on social media, the organizers offered, “After consultation with local officials, we have made the difficult decision to cancel The Prodigy on September 25th and CBGB Festival on September 26th due to forecasted severe weather and high wind conditions in the New York Metropolitan area throughout the weekend. The safety of our fans, the artists and local crews is our top priority. Thank you to the fans and all those involved who have supported the shows.”
For those looking for refunds, the organizers said that those are available now at original point of purchase and that those who purchased tickets through AXS will be automatically refunded. The festival’s stacked lineup included Morrissey, Interpol, Mannequin Pussy, Violet Grohl, Bikini Kill, The Sex Pistols, Patti Smith, Circle Jerks and more.
As previously mentioned, this is not the only music event that had been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. The NYC edition of All Things Go, Oceans Calling and Global Citizen Festival have all been cancelled today for the same reason. Ed Sheeran’s forthcoming concerts at Gillette Stadium have also been cancelled as the New York City area prepares for heavy rain and high winds.
