Brooklyn-based indie rock duo Solid Copy have shared their candid new song “Thanks For Asking.” The track serves as the final preview of their forthcoming debut record Forensic Manor following previously released singles “Low Tide,” “Like A Ghost,” “Cool Kid” and “Let The Good Times Rot.”

Speaking on the track, cousins and bandmates Fiona and Daniel Quinn offered, “‘Thanks for Asking’ is equal parts cynical and hopeful. I wanted the song to reflect the reality and desperation of the moment while still holding onto the firm belief that the future is very much up for grabs. It follows an exhausting loop of introspection while asking, ‘What if we gave the negative things we say about ourselves the space to speak freely?’ This song explores these less desirable aspects of life.”

“Thanks For Asking” is a vibrant, airy track that lets the music speak for itself with a crystal clear guitar tone driving the track forward while Fiona’s vocals drift over the top like a sonic cloud. Jeff Berner, who has previously worked with the likes of Kurt Vile, Public Practice and Johnny Aries, engineered the track while Carl Saff, known for collaborating with Sonic Youth, Guided By Voices and Wild Pink, mastered it. Solid Copy is rounded out by Casey Feldman on guitar, Tom Manolakes on bass, and Tom O’Malley on drums in addition to Daniel Quinn on guitar and Fiona Quinn on vocals.
