WILLOW will play Sony Hall on October 6th following the release of her album “The Thread” earlier this summer.
“The Thread” arrived on July 24th, just six months after WILLOW’s last LP, “petal rock black”. Produced by longtime collaborator Chris Greatti, the new album showcases WILLOW’s evolving sonic exploration. It focuses on spirituality, discussing femininity and the Divine Mother. When speaking to FADER, WILLOW said, “My goal is to develop my spiritual and creative reflection of the human experience to be so potent and at such a high level equal to my technical ability. I want when people listen to my music or they come to my show, I want it to feel like they’re literally being healed from the inside out, like it’s a spiritual, shamanic experience.” The album is praised for its cohesion and more experimental influences.
WILLOW received a stellar review from Rolling Stone following her performances earlier this year at Blue Note in Los Angeles. She is sure to beat expectations at her shows this fall. The upcoming New York date is one of only four dates announced in support of “The Thread”.
