Evil Island has officially arrived, and they’re not exactly interested in easing anyone into their world. The new band, featuring members of The Blood Brothers, OFF!, …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and Glassjaw, have released their debut album, Terraform The Afterlife, via Blowed Out Records. Along with the album comes the official video for “T-Hexx,” a chaotic new track featuring Fugazi co-founder Guy Picciotto, marking his first recorded vocal performance in 25 years.
Picciotto’s last recorded Fugazi vocal appearance was on 2001’s The Argument. Now, a quarter-century later, he’s back behind a microphone, and the result is about as explosive as you’d expect from a collaboration between Picciotto and members of The Blood Brothers.

Johnny Whitney’s vocals are joined by Picciotto’s unmistakable voice, creating a combination that somehow feels both completely unexpected and strangely obvious. The song doesn’t slowly build toward its chaos, either. “T-Hexx” comes in huge, with Cody Votolato’s riffs sounding almost cartoonishly oversized before the whole thing becomes a wall of noise, rhythm and shouted vocals. Eventually, he asked the obvious question: why not just get the real guy?
For Whitney, the collaboration was a pretty surreal moment. He has described Picciotto as a musical hero since he was a teenager, crediting Fugazi with helping to inspire him and those around him to become musicians. Picciotto, meanwhile, wasn’t exactly sure what it would be like to return to recorded vocals after such a long break. But the track convinced him to give it a shot. Picciotto says he approached the song with one goal: not to mess it up. He also praised the track’s ability to balance sheer ferocity with something genuinely infectious, while working with producer Ross Robinson helped settle some of the nerves that came with returning to the studio after 25 years.

The project grew out of the renewed activity surrounding The Blood Brothers’ reunion in 2024, but Evil Island isn’t simply a continuation of that band. Instead, the members have created an entire fictional world around Terraform The Afterlife. The band’s Evil Island Death Cult universe imagines a dystopian reality where basically every terrible prediction has already happened, an absurd reflection of a culture being reduced to algorithms, AI-generated content and the cheapest possible version of itself.
