Brody Dalle has announced that she plans to release her new solo album, Diploid Love, in April 2014.
Having blazed trails of punk with her work in The Distillers and Spinnerette, Dalle has been working on the highly anticipated Diploid Love for months now. Importantly, this is the first we’ll hear of the Australian musician’s solo work, apart from the sassy single Dalle released off it last month; “Meet The Foetus/Oh The Joy” featuring close friend Shirley Manson. Manson is one of several privileged guest appearances on the CD, including Nick Valensi of the Strokes, Emily Kolal of Warpaint, and Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age. Diploid Love was co-produced by the seasoned Alain Johannes, known for his work with Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age, Chris Cornell, and others.
While Dalle announced that she would be joining Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age on their 8-date Australian Tour, she has also just shared that she will be playing additional dates this spring, including a Budapest show. Given her devoted fanbase and promising outlook for Diploid Love, shows have been consistently selling out, but many venues are available on her official site.
