Chicago punk rock favorites Alkaline Trio will be returning to their hometown this fall for a special Riot Fest aftershow. The band will be performing at Metro on September 20th alongside Los Angeles-based post-hardcore group Militarie Gun.
The September 20th performance follows a busy year for Alkaline Trio, who released their tenth studio album Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs earlier in 2025. Formed in 1996, the band has become a cornerstone of the punk scene with their signature dark lyricism and melodic hooks, producing fan-favorite iconic albums like From Here to Infirmary, Good Mourning, and Crimson. Militarie Gun, formed in 2020, has quickly gained traction with their energetic blend of hardcore aggression and alt-rock sensibilities, earning acclaim for their debut full-length Life Under the Gun.
The Metro show is part of Riot Fest’s official late-night aftershow series, giving fans a chance to see both bands up close following their festival performances. Known for their intense live sets and loyal fan bases, Alkaline Trio and Militarie Gun will headline a night of unrelenting energy in one of Chicago’s most iconic independent venues.
