Amidst the excitement generated with the release of The Dead Weather new single “Open Up (That’s Enough),” Jack White has upped the ante by leaking news he’s finishing work on his sophomore solo album.
White recently chatted with fans on the message board for Third Man Records, revealing the following:
I’m producing two albums this month, and finishing them. One of them is mine.
This is great news for White fans, as 2013 saw little in releases for one of the industry’s most prolific of musicians. White did attract quite a bit of attention with his cover of Loretta Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” however, a favorite on our own Top 40 Songs of the year list.
The first of the upcoming two new albums will likely be the second for The Dead Weather, while the other will be a follow-up to White’s solo debut Blunderbuss.
Also of note are the limited-edition vinyl reissues Third Man Records is offering of four tracks from White Stripes essential Elephant – “The Hardest Button to Button,” “Seven Nation Army,” “There’s No Home For You Here” and “I Just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself.”
