This past September, Hippo Campus released their fourth studio album, Flood. In celebration they will be embarking on a four month North American tour. Their second to last stop will be held in Chicago at the Salt Shed Outdoors (Fairgrounds), on May 30, 2025. They will be joined by opener Hotline TNT.
Minnesota-based indie rock band, Hippo Campus was created in 2013 in the Twin City music scene. The band was formed by lead singer and guitarists Jake Luppen, lead guitarists Nathan Stocker, bassist and keyboardist Zach Sutton, and drummer Whistler Isaiah Alle. The four of them met while attending the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists. In 2017, they officially added DeCarlo Jackson on Trumpet who also attended the school.
The band is a proponent of pulling inspiration from British artists such as King Krule and others. Their first piece of recorded music, an EP by the name of Bashful Creatures, came out two years after their formation in 2015. Their first album, Landmark, came out two years after that in 2017.
In total they have released four studio albums, 14 singles, and six EPs. They have worked hard to develop a solid following throughout their career. They have performed at many of the big named music festivals like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, South by Southwest and many more.
Hippo Campus will perform in Chicago at the Salt Shed Outdoor (Fairgrounds) on May 30, 2025 with opener Hotline TNT. Tickets can be purchased now Ticketmaster.com.
