Kat Von D, Mexican-born American tattoo artist, television personality, and recording artist, is going on tour this December. Her new album My Side Of The Mountain came out on September 20th, and reflects a darker aura, with features from Alissa White-Gluz and LA songwriter, Ferra. The tour is set to start on October 30th in Indianapolis. Kat’s music is a blend of new wave, with disco goth. Her lyrics are vulnerable, authentic, and romantic. In an article with Chaoszine, Kat said that the inspiration behind her newest album came from when she read ‘My Side of the Mountain’, as a child. She said that she related to the little boy who ran away from home, and found comfort in his isolation, self-reflection, and self-reliance. My Side of the Mountain is a love letter for all of the hopeless romantics, the outsiders, and lonely hearts trying to find their place in this cold and divisive world.” Von D empathizes with her audience through her art and is allowing this album to encourage ‘confronting the shit we don’t want to face, accepting the things we can’t control, and fighting for the things that matter’. With that, her intention for her tour, to make sure that others don’t feel alone, seems to already be being received beautifully. Kat will be bringing this illusion and feeling to New York at the Palladium in Times Square on Friday December 6th. Tickets to the show are still on sale, and selling for $39.45 USD. for General Admission Standing.
