Beck’s been droppin’ singles like hotcakes this year, and it’s yet to be said if they’ll be included on either of his upcoming new albums.
So far this summer, Beck has released the track “Defriended”, via 12″ vinyl and digital download, as well as the song “I Won’t Be Long”, featuring Kim Gordon. He’s also been busy on the road, performing a terrific duo of covers in “Billie Jean” and “Bang A Gong” at the Days Off festival in Paris, then unleashing his Song Reader to a crowd for the first time, at London’s Barbican.
This week the eclectic musician helped kick off multimedia artist Doug Aitken’s Station to Station tour, which will be traveling the U.S. to highlight such arts as sculpture, dance, literature and film through performance events. No Age, Savages, Twin Shadow, Ariel Pink, Cat Power and many more are signed up for this tour, and in its first installment, in Barstow, Calif., Beck delivered “Wake Up”, another brand new song.
It’s still unclear if this song will be featured on either of the forthcoming albums this fall, but watch a video of the single below, and enjoy it for what it is now:
