In this behind-the-scenes video, Nine Inch Nails and their production team give fans the chance to see into the genius that is NIN. With their highly anticipated album Hesitation Marks due out September 3rd, critics and NIN fanatics have been given the chance to follow the band on their return back to the stage and studio after some time a part. Prior to this video release cataloging all the intricacies of their new show production, the band released upcoming tracks from their new album. Their first single “Copy of A” excited critics and music lovers, and NIN continued to please their loyal fanbase with the follow up tracks “Everything,” “Find My Way,” and “The Eater of Dreams.”
Adding to the excitement, NIN’s full performance at Outside Lands made waves on the social media circuit. Fueling another fire, the public Twitter rant from prominent Australian festival promoter, AJ Maddah, calling out Trent Reznor as wanting a more ‘sophisticated’ fan base, had some in a tailspin. Trent reassured their loyal followers that their goal was to create an incredible show that they would be proud of, and the Soundwave Festival in Australia was not the right fit for the band right now. Speaking to the idea of a more ‘sophisticated’ fanbase, NIN announced the release of Hesitation Marks as an ‘audiophile mastered version’ and will be available on the band’s site on September 3rd.
While this additional release may spark some controversy to the claims that Trent Reznor wants a new, more sophisticated fanbase, it is also a widely received move forward for NIN. The sophistication of Nine Inch Nails itself is evident in this behind-the-scenes video. Chris Fussell, production manager for NIN, has spear-headed much of this project, but notes that ‘Trent Reznor has the hardest job out here, he is the creative, artistic genius behind all of this.’ With a team including Rob Sheridan, the artistic director for Nine Inch Nails, band members have wholeheartedly embraced these massive-scale production pieces, and even learned new instruments and multiple parts for their shows. With new material, a new album and new stage design, including unprecedented showmanship, and production technology, fans have a lot to look forward to when going to an NIN show. It is evident and clear that the work and creativity poured into their latest endeavor is worth all the blood, sweat and tears because it gives new and loyal fans an unforgettable experience.
