SISU, also known as Sandra Vu, has released the stream for her newest track, “Harpoons,” from SISU’s upcoming debut LP.
Vu has been the drummer for several other bands, including Dum Dum Girls and Dirty Beaches, but SISU is the first project in which she’s been the main attraction. She wrote her upcoming album, Blood Tears, about relationships and the creative process. She is known for combining contrasting effects, like loud and quiet or abrasive and smooth sounds.
The first song that Vu shared from SISU’s debut LP was “Return the Favor,” and fans looking for more can stream “Harpoons” on Soundcloud now.
Although this will be the first full-length album for SISU, this project is one that Vu has been working on for a while, including the Light Eyes EP and the video for one of its tracks, “Two Thousand Hands.”
Blood Tears will be available from Mono Prism on September 17 and SISU will be on tour this fall with Dirty Beaches.
