Alecia Beth Moore, the R&B Soul, Pop Rock and Edgy Pop singer, songwriter and actress known as P!nk/Pink, has announced her Summer Carnival Tour! The international tour will begin on February 9th in Sydney, Australia. As an artist, Pink has been active for the past 29 years! She became an experienced dancer and vocalist who was writing songs at the age of 14. Every Friday, Pink had a gig performing at the Philly nightclub, turning a blessing into a curse. She ended up being consumed by a world of drugs, nearly overdosed at 15 and committed petty crimes. After dropping out of high school, she earned her G.E.D. in 1998 and her professional music career was lying slightly ahead.
An executive from MCA Records saw some of her performances one night and decided to ask her to audition for an R&B Soul group in the making, Basic Instinct. However, neither this group nor Choice, another R&B Soul group she joined after, saw much success and disbanded just as fast as the relationship started. Despite the setbacks, Alecia Moore changed her name to Pink before releasing her debut album, Can’t Take Me Home in 2000. The album was incredibly successful, earning her a double-platinum award and propelled her to new heights, opening for NSYNC! As Pink reaped more and more success from her endeavors, she won a Grammy award for “Lady Marmalade” with Missy Elliot, Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim and Mya featured on the soundtrack for the movie Moulin Rouge! (2001).
In recent years, Pink has been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the Grammy Awards, Kid’s Choice Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards (Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle), People’s Choice Awards. She was also the 2019 winner of the Star on the Walk of Fame. These are just some of the many awards she has been nominated for or won! All of her accolades and achievements speak for themselves and she is just one year away from reaching her 30th year in the music industry. Luckily for us, Pink has released her latest album, TRUSTFALL with a deluxe version for this year’s tour. The top three songs on the album, “Irrelevant”, “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” and “TRUSTFALL” have accumulated close to 400 million streams on Spotify. If this album doesn’t prove her lasting influence and unwavering passion for music, nothing will.
This summer, on August 18th, Pink will be returning to her home state of Pennsylvania to perform in Philadelphia at the Lincoln Financial Field, which has a venue capacity of a little over 69,000. The tickets are on sale, but there have been “Selling Fast” notices which is no surprise. No one knows how much longer they will be available, so get your tickets, plan your schedule accordingly and tell as many people, not only to boast but to join in on what could be one of the greatest concerts you’ve ever experienced. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm! Regardless of whether you’re walking, driving or using another mode of transportation, please prioritize your safety and have a wonderful time at the show.
