Experimental pop icon, Dorian Electra, has announced a 2024 US Tour in support of their new album, Fanfare. They will be making a stop in San Francisco at The Fillmore on March 22.

Making their break into music in the early 2010s with a series of partially comedic, partially educational songs and videos about philosophy and economics, Electra would eventually find a niche through a music video series released in collaboration with Refinery29 that featured songs about intersectional feminism and queer history. These songs would eventually garner the attention of singer Charli XCX who would feature Electra on her 2017 song, “Femmebot’.

Electra would release their debut album, Flamboyant, after a number of singles, in 2019 to critical and commercial acclaim. The album tackled a plethora of genres and focused on masculinity and queerness through a very dramatic lens. Flamboyant‘s follow-up, My Agenda, arrived mid-pandemic in 2020. The album featured collaborations from a wide variety of musicians including Village People, Pussy Riot, Rebecca Black, and Dylan Brady. The album takes a satirical look at “the gay agenda” and queerness, writing from the perspective of homophobes and conspiracy theorists as a way of poking fun of bigotry.

After a three year hiatus, Electra returned in late 2023 with their third studio album, Fanfare, which tackles celebrity and fandoms in a chronically online day and age. Be sure to catch Dorian Electra when they dazzle the stage at The Fillmore on March 22! Tickets are available here
