D.C. hardcore legend Ian MacKaye’s most recent project, The Evens, have announced a handful of Midwestern tour dates for the very near future. By the looks of it, they will continue their habit of playing galleries, community centers and other non-standard locations.
The Evens, consisting of MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat) and wife Amy Farina (D.C. post-hardcore band The Warmers), really took off when Fugazi went on hiatus in 2003. The duo garnered attention when their children’s song, “Vowel Movement,” produced the very first music video that MacKaye put out in his entire musical career. They released their third album, The Odds, in November of last year on MacKaye’s own Dischord label.
Be sure to check out a show at one of these undercover locations before the tour wraps up. It’s always a good idea to see what Ian MacKaye is up to.
