Kevin Shields nearly broke the internets this year, and sent many MBV fans hearts a-flutter, when he suddenly announced the release of new album m b v. If Kevin Shields releases something, you don’t ask questions, you simply purchase it on vinyl without having heard it, because you already know it needs to be heard that way. Coming 22 years after previous landmark album Loveless , the new material sounds as if time stopped in 1991, and it’s simply an extenuasion of the signature sound that so many bands and artists have desperatly tried to emulate. You can’t beat the original. MBV is back to inspire and awe a whole new generation of music lovers, distortion junkies, and shoegazers.
