Icelandic experimental group múm have debuted a new single called “Toothwheels” from their upcoming album Smilewound, which will be released on September 17.
The album was allegedly recorded in an old Baltic farmhouse and produced entirely by múm themselves. “Toothwheels” is an eerie, evocative masterpiece. This is the fourth album from múm and show that they have only progressed further as a band, using unconventional methods of and locations for recording to create a raw and mystical sound.
múm were specifically selected by Brian Eno to attend the Norwegian Punkt Festival, which elevated their career. They have not released music since 2009, and Smilewound will be joyously received.
