With the recent announcement “Downton Abbey” will soon have its first black cast member, Diddy has stepped up to issue a reminder that this news was incorrect – and that, in truth, it was he who had a role as the show’s premier black character.
Such news had doubtful fans scurrying to see if there was legitimacy to such claims, especially after the rapper tweeted he’d become a series regular on “Downton Abbey”, which he also said was his favorite show. His announcement began to seem even more likely once Diddy changed his Twitter background to that of a picture of the show’s Highclere Castle.
Soon after, however, producers from the show began denying Combs had ever played a part in their series, and the real story came tumbling out as it was revealed the rapper had, instead, been simply acting out his role in a new Funny or Die video.
Watch below as Diddy is superimposed, quite believably, into various scenes from “Downton Abbey” as Lord Wolcott. It leaves one to wonder if maybe he really is an Abbey-head – even if it is just Downtown Abbey to him, a place where Ciroq is a more than appropriate libation.
