This is the end, folks: influential indie/emo band Texas Is The Reason is coming together for one last set of shows before calling it quits for good.
The band was formed in 1994 when former Shelter guitarist Norm Arenas joined forces with 108’s drummer Chris Daly. The two then went about recruiting bassist Scott Winegard from Fountainhead and Copper’s Garret Klahn for vocal and guitar duties. This Voltron-like group then came up with a band name by taking a line from Misfits’ “Bullet” and the rest is history.
In 1995 they released their self-titled EP and it soon became an underground hit. 1996 saw them hook up with J. Robbins for an LP whose title, Do You Know Who You Are, was taken from what are believed to be the last words John Lennon ever heard. The group soon disbanded, however, and each went on to pursue their own careers. Earlier this year, Revelation Records, which released the band’s only LP, celebrated its 25-year anniversary by releasing Do You Know Who You Are?: The Complete Collection, which is a comprehensive album that includes every piece of music the band has ever released. To join in the celebration, Texas Is The Reason has agreed to perform together for the first time in over 5 years. See the dates for these historic shows below:
