After suffering multiple seizures Tuesday night, Weezy seems to be breathing a little easier today and is said to be making a slow, but sure recovery.
UPDATE – March 19th: Lil Wayne remains hospitalized after suffering multiple seizures last week, however TMZ is now reporting that he has been moved out of the ICU, where he has been in an “unstable” condition for the past six days. Wayne’s well-wishers over the past week have included Drake, Birdman, Usher, L.A. Clipper’s star Chris Paul, and Nikki Minaj. The thirty-year old rapper/producer who was said to be on his deathbed just last Thursday is now said to be in a “stable” condition, and that even a hospital discharge may be in his near future.
March 16th: Rumors flew this week saying Lil Wayne was reportedly on his death-bed and being placed into a medically induced coma. The thirty year old rapper is now said to be in good spirits and making a recovery, despite the fact that today he remains hospitalized in the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for suffering multiple seizures following a music video shoot Tuesday night.
He was released Tuesday night after stabilizing, but when one of his bodyguards found him unconscious on the floor shortly after, he was rushed back to the hospital where he was said to be in an “unstable” condition and breathing through tubes.
While the exact details regarding the cause of his seizures and his treatment received thus far are still hazey up to now, someone with access to Lil Wayne’s official twitter posted this:
I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.
— Lil Wayne WEEZY F (@LilTunechi) March 16, 2013
Whether or not this tweet comes directly from Lil Wayne himself or someone within his inner circle remains to be seen, but multiple reports seem to confirm that he is in fact making a recovery. This differs from reports made less than twenty-four hours ago which told a completely different story; one involving deathbeds and last rites. TMZ broke the original story which said the rapper was on his deathbed, and retracted that detail forty-five minutes after the initial story broke.
TMZ has pointed to drug abuse as the cause of the seizures, while a source close to Wayne attributes his history of seizures to be the cause, and nothing more.
