Despite reports that surfaced yesterday, according to NME, Queens of The Stone Age have stated that their new album will not come out in March 2013.
The announcement came last month that the new recording will feature the return of Dave Grohl on drums, after Joey Castillo left the band. Grohl later indicated that he would not join the band on tour. Discussing the upcoming album, frontman Josh Homme recently stated:
I think this record is a little more lyrically vulnerable, but I also think it’s sort of musically deeper and richer, and it’s a little bit stranger.
Additionally, Homme said:
This record basically sounds like you’re running in a dream the whole time.
The now debunked story announcing the March release date certainly caused a stir on the Internet yesterday but fans will apparently have to wait a little longer for the QOTSA’s follow up to Era Vulgaris. NME stated in their story that the band’s management denied any knowledge of the report that the band’s new album would drop next March. Stay tuned.
