This year, the CMT Music Awards are being held at the Moody Center this Sunday, April 2nd! With live performances from Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Cody Johnson, Keith Urban and many more, the heart of country music will be alive in Austin this weekend!
Since the CMT Music Awards began, they have always taken place in Nashville, Tennessee. That is until this year as it calls Austin, Texas its new home. This will be Austin’s first major televised award ceremony! In celebration of the new location, tickets are available for fans to attend the ceremony live in person!
Since they started back in 1967, the CMT Music Awards have been completely fan voted. Some categories that can be voted on are Video of the Year, Group/Duo Video of the Year, Breakthrough Male/Female Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year. Voting is still open and you can vote up to 10 times a day!
Newly announced performers that have just been added to the lineup have created quite the buzz. These artists include The Black Crowes with Darius Rucker, Jelly Roll, Wynonna Judd with Ashley McBryde and Tyler Hubbard. The Black Crowes and Darius Rucker will be performing The Black Crowes song, “She Talks to Angels,” together on stage. Tyler Hubbard is sure to perform a top hit from his brand new self-titled album that was released on January 27th, 2023.
The complete performance lineup so far includes The Black Crowes & Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown & Katelyn Brown, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, Tyler Hubbard and Wynonna & Ashley McBryde on the main stage. The side stage lineup includes Avery Anna, Chapel Hart, Jackson Dean, Lily Rose, Megan Moroney and Nate Smith. The hosts of the award ceremony are Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown.
Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.com starting at $229. It’ll be a great opportunity to sit alongside all of the biggest names in the country music industry! If you can’t make it in person, the ceremony will air live on CBS from 7:00 p.m. CST to 10 p.m. CST. It is filled with must-see performances for Austin residents and a must-watch award show for country music fans all over the world!
