16/3/23 – Chicago, Il – Concord Music Hall
The emo band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, The Wonder Years comes to Concord Music Hall on March 16th! They recently released their seventh studio album The Hum Goes On Forever. The band is composed of Dan Campbell, Matt Brasch, Casey Cavaliere, Michael Kennedy, Josh Martin, and Nick Steinborn. The band has been performing since 2005 and has made a name for themself when the emo/pop punk scene was deep in mainstream culture. Now, during the resurgence of emo and pop punk, The Wonder Years are here to show the world they are still as good as they once were.
The album starts off with the lyrics “I don’t want to die”, and echoes multiple times until Dan Campbell is screaming it at the end of the first track. Campbell’s vocals are chilling and don’t shy away from topics about mental health. The band recognizes that their fans find refuge in their songs. The Hum Goes On Forever discusses depression but also those feelings of being motivated. This combination makes for a wonderful album you can relate to and also be uplifted by.
With their new album, as well as hits like “Came Out Swinging” and “I Don’t Like Who I Was Then” in their discography, The Wonder Years are bound to make a great show of classic emo songs and new bangers.
Opening for The Wonder Years are Hot Mulligan and Carly Crosgrove. Hot Mulligan is a post-emo band from Michigan. They recently released an EP called Acoustics Vol. 2 in 2022. Carly Crosgrove is an emo band from Philadelphia that recently released their debut album See You In Chemistry just last year!
