Heavy metal band Gwar is set to return to the U.S. this fall with special appearances at Riot Fest, Louder Than Life and Los Angeles. Gwar will be at the Belasco Theater on Sunday, Oct. 9 with supporting acts Light The Torch and Nekrogoblikon.
The punk metal band has been touring nearly every single day since May earlier this year. Gwar is currently touring in the U.K. and performing at the Bloodstock Open Air 2022. The group is set to make their grand return to the U.S. at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Alton, Virginia on Sept. 10. The band is set to continue touring throughout the U.S. this fall making special appearances at Chicago’s Riot Fest on Sept. 17, Louisville’s Louder Than Life Festival on Sept. 23, Sacramento’s Aftershock fest on Oct. 7 and much more.
The group is composed of a frequently rotating line-up of musicians and artists. Gwar is recognized by their odd costumes and core thematic visuals based on a science fiction mythology of barbaric interplanetary warriors. Their lyrics often incorporate sexual and political satire. They are known to fully emerge their audience in the odd science fiction world they created by depicting a series of graphic theatrical shows which most often result in spraying the audience with fake blood and other bodily fluids.
On June 3, 2022, Gwar released their fifteenth studio album, The New Dark Ages, alongside a graphic novel in collaboration with 72 Comics, Gwar In The Duoverse Of Absurdity. This is the second album since the passing of founding member and longtime vocalist Dave Brockie. The group is now approaching nearly four decades of presence.
Witness Gwar destroy LA alongside Light The Torch, Nekrogoblikon and Crobot at the Belasco Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 9. Tickets are available on LiveNation.com.
