George Kusunoki Miller known as Joji is half Australian and half Japanese, and he grew up in Osaka, Japan. The singer was a Youtuber before he became a full-time musician. He had a comic Youtube personality and slowly shifted to a musician.
The artist always had a passion for music composition. The main reason why he started a Youtube channel was to promote his music. Joji’s music can be very realistic when it comes to what he expresses with his lyrics and talks about the tough times in life which is different from most music coming out of Japan. The music that dominates in Japan is bright bubbly J-pop for the most part.
His debut album October’s ballads 1 topped Billboard’s R&B and Hip Hop chart becoming the first project from an Asian artist to do so. His first album release became popular right away and this was a great beginning for the artist.
Joji’s music career started while he was living in Kobe. He used to spend a lot of time making music while hanging out with his friends. As he began to create songs under the internet name Pink Guy which was a start for him. The artist gets inspiration from other artists, and some of the main ones are Childish Gambino, Radiohead and Shlohmo. His music is different than most other musicians, and it’s a combination of folk, trap music, hip-hop, and R&B. Joji is a talented, creative, and smart individual.
