In mid-August, three members of the heavy metal band Baroness were hospitalized. At the end of August, the members announced that they had been released from the hospital. Singer and guitarist John Baizley left the hospital on August 27 and drummer Allen Blickle, guitarist Pete Adams and bassist Matt Maggioni have made their way back to the United States.
There were nine people injured in total when their tour bus slid down 30 feet off of a viaduct while they were in Bath, England. They were traveling between shows during a rainy weather. Baizley broke his left arm and left leg, while Blickle and Maggioni each suffered from fractured vertebrae.
Because of the accident, Baroness canceled the six remaining gigs on their 2012 tour schedule. Canceled shows included a performance at FYF Fest and Hopscotch Music Festival on September 6 at Raleigh, North Carolina.
