After the recent passing of Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, the bandmates of his latest band Sinsaenum issued a statement regarding his death. In the statement, the band mentioned that Jordison had battled “demons” and that they “did everything in [their] power to help.”
“He was of course one of the most influential drummers in the genre, completely rewriting the game of metal drumming, and it was truly an honor to share even just a small part of that with him,” the band stated. “Joey also had his demons, and nothing hurts more than knowing that we did everything in our power to help and couldn’t get through to him. He never felt he was better than anyone and would go out of this way to put everything, and everyone above his own needs.”
Sinsaenum still plan to continue and finish their new album they had started writing with Jordison. He had passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26 and was 46 years old. A cause of death has yet to be revealed.
Along with Sinsaenum and Slipknot, Jordison also was a part of the band VIMIC, alongside Scar the Martyr members Jed Simon, Kyle Kinkiel, Matt Tarach, as well as vocalist Kalen Chase and guitarist Kris Norris.
